The providers at Neighborhood HealthSource are here to make your visit the best it can be. A trip to the doctor can be stressful, but our staff and providers are here to make it a comfortable experience and connect you with all the care, information, and resources you need to get well and stay well!
In addition to doctors, we have physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and behavioral health providers and counselors. Our doctors have completed specialty training and are board certified; physician assistants and nurse practitioners have completed advanced training and are certified in primary health care.
Shelton Long, LCSW (he/him)
Behavioral Health Therapist
Long is a 2025 graduate from Winona State University and is passionate about increasing access to mental health care while challenging the stigma that often prevents people of color and men from seeking support. His approach is compassionate, collaborative, and client-centered. He focuses on your goals and work alongside you using a holistic perspective, recognizing how mental health impacts every aspect of your life. Long enjoys working with people from all backgrounds and have a special interest in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD and other forms of neurodiversity, bipolar disorders, substance use, and trauma-related concerns. Long has worked in a variety of mental health settings since 2021, giving him experience in supporting clients with diverse needs and life experiences.Outside of work, Long enjoys spending time with his cats and partners, listening to music, and attending local events. You’ll often hear music playing in his office between sessions, as it helps create a welcoming and comfortable environment.
