Neighborhood HealthSource is a private, non-profit organization run by an executive director. The executive director who is chosen by our board of directors. Our board is made up of a least 51% patients, which helps us ensure that our organization is committed to meeting the needs of our patients.

Bri Berg (she/her)
Director of Community Health and Funds Development
Bri Berg leads community health strategy, grant development, and funding alignment to advance health equity. She brings extensive experience overseeing multi-million-dollar and multi-year grants across public health, housing stability, youth justice, and harm reduction initiatives. She holds a Master of Public Health and is passionate about building sustainable, community-driven programs that address social determinants of health.
As the lead grant manager, Bri oversees all community health programs and strategic initiatives.

Robin Bresette, MD (she/her/hers) —–Sheridan Clinic
Medical Director
Dr. Robin Bresette attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison before completing her residency at the University of Minnesota in Family Medicine. She has 14 years of experience as a family medicine physician, and starting working with Neighborhood HealthSource in 2009. Her areas of interest include prenatal care, pediatrics, women’s health, and chronic disease. Outside of work, her favorite activities include yoga, gardening, biking, and snowboarding.

Curt Engels
Director of Finance
Curt Engels started at Neighborhood HealthSource in July of 2023 and has over 30 years’ experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining NHS he has held various leadership positions within the industry including Chief Financial Officer at Crest View Senior Communities, Director of Finance at Southview Acres Health Care Center, Controller at Sholom Community Alliance and Director of Finance at Evercare (a division of United Health Group). Curt has a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University where he double majored in Accounting and Finance.

Shannon Mayer (she/her)
Executive Director
Driven by a deep commitment to organizational excellence and community well-being, Shannon brings a wealth of experience in managed care organizations and specialty health care. Most recently, she served as the Chief Operating Officer at Fraser, where she oversaw operations, strategic planning, and service delivery to enhance patient outcomes and organizational efficiency for their Minnesota clinics and group homes.
Prior to Fraser, Shannon’s background includes many years in leadership at Minnesota based health plans. She is excited to bring her diverse background to Neighborhood HealthSource to continue its leadership in the Minneapolis and north metro area.
