Neighborhood HealthSource is a private, non-profit organization run by an executive director. The executive director who is chosen by our board of directors. Our board is made up of a least 51% patients, which helps us ensure that our organization is committed to meeting the needs of our patients.

Sofia Ali , MD, MPH

Medical Director

Dr. Ali is a Family Physician with over 20 years of experience serving patients in Twin Cities communities. She is passionate about prevention and partnering with patients to promote health and wellness rather than just treating illness and disease. Dr. Ali is a Family Physician with over 20 years of experience serving patients in Twin Cities communities. She is passionate about prevention and partnering with patients to promote health and wellness rather than just treating illness and disease. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Ali holds a Master of Public Health degree and understands that many social conditions such as poverty, food access, and racism impact health. Dr. Ali received her BS from the American University (Washington, DC), Medical Degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and Masters in Public Health from the University of Minnesota. She did her Family Medicine residency at St. Paul-Ramsey Medical Center (now Regions). She loves to spend time with her family, cook (and eat!), garden, take walks and to travel.

Tessa Wetjen is dedicated to connecting NHS and our community in ways that improve everyone’s health. Tessa has a Master’s in Public Affairs from the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota and undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Government from New Mexico State University. Tessa has directed a nonprofit serving youth and families; provided refugee resettlement services; led a Community Health Worker team working in the East African community; and implemented state-wide strategies to connect pregnant and parenting women with mental health services.Read Bio

Mission & Services

Neighborhood HealthSource provides a full range of primary medical and behavioral healthcare services at four clinics in Minneapolis and the north metro. We work hard to make sure everyone in our communities can access the care they need.

We are committed to treating all patients, with and without health insurance, and believe that cost should never be a barrier to care.

Payment Options

Providing care that our patients can afford is vital to our mission. We have an income-based sliding fee program for patients with and without insurance.
