Each year Neighborhood hosts a Caring for our Communities Breakfast Jubilee to celebrate and thank our donors. At this event, we present two Builder Awards to individuals or organizations that had a substantial impact on our mission. Builder Award recipients have improved or increased access to health care for our patients and communities.
2017 Individual: Dana Jensen

Dana Jensen has been a tireless advocate for Neighborhood HealthSource for more than twelve years. She served as a volunteer Board member, a Board Officer, and Committee Chair. She provides valuable leadership and guidance, and has advocated for NHS in a variety of ways including grant funding, event sponsorship, and volunteer assistance. Dana lives out our mission every day, and is dedicated and passionate about the work we do. We’re honored to have her on our side.
2017 Individual: Dr. Don Masler
Dr. Don Masler began as a volunteer supervising physician one month after the Fremont Clinic opened in 1971. Dr. Masler cared for hundreds of people directly and supervised countless medical students. His excellent reputation in the community helped recruit many of the clinic’s early volunteers. Dr. Masler’s dedication and commitment was not only fundamental to our ability to provide healthcare services to the community, he also demonstrated to our funders the need for these services was critical and that we had the ability to deliver.
2016 Individual: Dr. Bruce Adams

Dr. Adams embodies our mission to improve
and promote access to healthcare. Serving multiple board terms, then on the Clinical Quality Improvement Committee, he guided quality goals, clinician credentialing standards, and treatment protocols. Dr. Adams has true passion for community health. As an ER doctor and then Vice President of Medical Affairs at North Memorial Hospital, he was instrumental in establishing our relationship with that organization.
2016 Organization: MDH Sage

The MN Dept. of Health Sage Cancer Screening Program covers breast and cervical cancer screening, diagnostics and treatment for uninsured or under-insured women who otherwise could not afford it. Led by GayLynn Richards and Mike Finke, Sage has been a trusted partner since 1992. Together we have provided mammograms to 3,384 women, sent
900 for diagnosed diagnosed 32 with breast cancer
2014 Organization: Northeast Bank

Northeast Bank has been supporting our mission through donations and employee volunteerism since 1999. The bank is proud to be one our original Jubilee Supporters. Northeast Bank selected Neighborhood HealthSource as a United Way Caring Connection recipient, and bank employees also donated 88 new books for the Jump at Reading program, which provides our clinics with books for young visitors.
